both beats r ok, mass seemed to be going for a more original feel, and ruckus just looped a sample...either way keep grindinl...ruckus' beat gets a bit repetitve after a while, but it was a bit more enjoyable than mass' so he'll get my vote...

ruck got it, mass effect probably would've won if he used a similar chopping process on a better sample but with the sample he used the sounds were pretty bland and got really repetative rucks was pretty much just a loop with a few drop outs but like micz said it was just more enjoyable to listen to

Preciate it yall. I actually thought Mass' shit was nice. Only thing I didn't like was the hi hats, sounded a little too distorted or grainy and were too loud IMO. I'd spit over that track, no doubt. But yeah, of course the beats are repetitive, they're supposed to be so cats can spit over em lol. All those crazy transitions and changes distract you from the lyrics if you ask me. Riggz, I feel you on the funk shit. I like the more soulful/blues shit personally. That guitar sample is actually from a blues song. Huge kudos to anyone who can guess the sample. Clearly, its not the original, its chopped up lol. Good battle though, Mass, we'll have to do another one soon.

Good battle, I usually do the funk stuff like Riggz said, I just thought I'd try something different and it kinda backfired. I liked your shit, a little simple, but it worked nice, we should do this again sometime.
