woordd good post yo, insightful and makes sense.
i believe i pretty much had it right except wasnt exactly sure why
a double and an adlib were called different things when they are bounce
an emphasis on your vocals etc. we should sticky this.

COOL EDIT!!!!!!!! haha

hell yea man. good tips. i woulda loved this when i was first startin out instead of trial and error.

another thing that can maybe be added to this for a more in depth sound, is PANNING.

Ive been experimenting with this and have come to really enjoy doin it.

track 1: i walk into the room with a cat in the hat. (this take i do nothing with, other than editing and mixing.

track 2: with a cat in the hat. (i usually pan this take to the left hard. if down the middle is 0, i move it over to 40)

track 3: with a cat in the hat. (i would then pan this take hard to the right. same amount as track 2. so track 2 is panned hard left, and track 3 is panned hard right.)

track 4: in the hat. (i usually just leave this one right down the middle)

and with just a little mixing of the ear, you should have a pretty solid sounding verse with more depth.

Alvin and I have been messin with this for a bit.

ALSO, i would never really use the same fx on different tracks. each track should have its own sound to it. for instance, if you put the same reverb on take 1-4, most likely youll get a cluttered, echo sounding verse. i usually say the less the better, but its all a matter of preference i think. ill post pics if i can
