I'm sure more audio heads can shine some light, sorry for the lame picture and expo, but that's the best I could do in a hurry without confusing ourselves, if you right click>view image from a computer, it gets bigger.

when i experience this, i usually jus turn down the beat in my headphones to refrain from yelling. OR, turn down the mic volume if your the type to yell your verse. you can always raise your verse with levelers and eq's, but its hard to lower the vocals when your redlining, or clipping if you will. clipping really sounds distorted as opposed to how pandas verse is. cut off all that bullshit also between your ad libs and dubs. it causes a slight, unecessary noise to your vocals which will sometimes sound like a hiss. the less noise and more vocal, the better.
