View from a window

Post by ER215 »

I stand here looking down, what a shame
I see my people in ruins
Not my people in the ethnic sense, but my people as in human race
We can stand aside and watch each other suffer
Yet we can sleep like babies at night
We live by the "Oh well, it ain't me" policy
Until we're the one who is down and out
Then we reach our hands up for help
Not remembering we've never reached down to help
Yup, this is us
Humanity
At the top of the food chain with our "civilized" tactics
Destroying all that nature has to offer to build a strip mall
How funny to say that it's hard to breathe now
After all the trees are gone
We live in places where we help from a distance
But not those who fall before our face
And when someone advances first
Oh boy, Oh boy it's because of his or her race
We're the last to look within ourselves
And blame faults to our own
But sooner or later the day will come where no one has a home
So I'll just stay inside for now
Because I hate this view from a window
All my girls be model hot/ Yea your girl she probably not....

wasn't feelin this that much, decent story n all but it just seemed generic, the outro with the view from the window and staying inside didn't make too much sense to me, cause inside your still gonna have the same view from the window, keep droppin though

Staying inside for now bcuz sooner or later we will all be outside bcuz we'll have no homes to turn to...

The view from a window is more like just looking through life in gerneral...

Thx tho for your insight

no that much i understood, i think the word at the end that said "because" i hate this view from a window, should've just been without the word because, that because kinda changed the ending up in a way i didn't like, otherwise overall this piece holds a lot of potential

LMAO^^^^ @ Creative.... Ok Ok... Well It Was Not A Stand Out For Me... Tho The Message Is Clearly There.. there couldve been a few things u couldve changed in order to make it hit deeper.. I needed at least a few comparisons or similes or some thing in there... it was nonetheless a good drop.. I Enjoy reading something that u have a real point of view and opinion about...makes it all them more interesting

I like the message. Seemed a bit too straight forward, though. Nothing to really think about or interpret. Just kind of nod in agreement. Not bad, though. Keep it up.

This is a nice drop man, the message is good. Like others have said it's a little bit too straight-forward perhaps, the kind of read that people who agree will nod their head in agreement and people who don't care about it will just ignore it. With a bit more passion/emotion intertwined in it, to show how the situation has effected you personally might make it strike a bit harder, as it sits you seem a bit detached from the situation and not really motivated to do shit to work for change. I think the best of these socially conscious drops are those that inspire new kinds of thoughts and motivate sustained action.
Good drop with this though, I wish more people focused their words in these kind of conscientious, noble directions. Stay up fam...
