Re: Local Label
Well I don't know how the laws are there technically but if it's that serious and if you're unsure about anything at all then I reckon you should

Get a lawyer. Or, make sure you read absolutely everything over.

Anytime you sign a legal document, hire an entertainment lawyer.

Re: Local Label
Rights is always a hard one because it's often that they retain it, but every situation is different. I know most contest shows own intellectual property for years even after the show is over. With smaller labels you are typically looking at one of two scenarios, a label who is for you and bout it, or a label trying to play you. Either way, the advice is the same, make sure you read and understand everything before signing, if you have any questions about the terminology, wait, take the time to look it up. If they are really interested in you they won't force you into anything.
Ride out, Glide out.

Re: Local Label
oh they tried to snub me on music rights, they wanted 100 to 80% of ownership of all music made thusly..
So i said fuck that, i didn't want 5 gs for my soul and ownership of my music.

Re: Local Label
right, i want to get signed but not at a cost of ownship and rights to MY MUSIC
i didn't want to deal with them.. anyways.. i'd rather get on a private label from a different state
