I think a lot of people don't appreciate poetry, to be honest. They think it's easier than rapping.

I personally think the boards should be merged.

When someone writes a poem, in the topic title have it say "[DC]Name Of Topic"

Poetry is da same as rhymin' growin up i wrote poetry and all my shit rhymed i look at lyrics or shit I spit as poetry cuz it shows peoples emotions inna track or even a free jus my opinion

Poetry puts more of an effort on the reader's part to actually think about and contemplate the lyrical content...

i love poetry too ...but it's harder to give criticism on..
IMO with poetry it really cant be criticized badly..cuz
it's mostly the artists interpretation of things..and it's hard
to tell an artist not to think the way they are..

poetry or spoken word is a lot different from just rappin or scripting. Poetry/S.W. involves a deeper thought process, including detailed rymes scheme or organization, paying firm attention to sylable use. I love spoken word and feel those cats who can do it well are a step above the average emcee...basically any rapper can rhyme and stay logical, but a true emcee can develop a picture with words...

Poetry easier to write then rap? I dont think so at all. In poetry you do NOT need to rhyme at all. In fact most poets DO NOT like rhyming poetry. But yes it is harder to give feedback on as tre tru said. There really is no wrong way to write a poem. But the really good poems stand out. Just like a verse from Chino XL would stand out against MC Hammer....

I'm not asking for "how to wite a better poem" either. I just think it would be nice for people to read them and at least say what they thought of it.

Every1 that you hear drops a verse 99% of the time they started with poetry, Poetry and rapping are brothers, just cuz one is read and the other is put to a rhythm dont mean anything.. its not the style its presented its the lyrics that are being presented... in my opinion
