When 50 Cent waged war against Rick Ross early last year he tried a number of different tactics to win the feud, but it seems like he may be sued over one of them.

At some point during the feud, 50 Cent leaked a video of Rick Ross’ baby mother, Lastonia Leviston, in a sex tape. A commentary by 50 Cent’s Pimpin’ Curly persona was then added to the video.

AllHipHop.com reports that Lastonia Leviston is now suing 50 Cent for his use of the tape. She claims she suffered “emotional distress” as a result of the video being leaked and that 50 Cent did not have proper permission to use the tape.

Leviston started her lawsuit this week by filing a complaint in a Manhattan court February 24. It’s unclear how much money Leviston is asking for in her lawsuit.

Although Leviston is currently going through the process of filing a lawsuit, Rick Ross’s other baby mother Tia Kemp seemed to had benefit greatly from the Ross’ feud with 50 Cent.

During the feud last year Kemp was treated by the courtesy of 50 cent to a shopping spree, then released a tell-all book, and was even featured on the cover of Smooth Magazine.

Last week, a man claiming to have been the one responsible for shooting the young rapper Waka Flocka Flame sent a picture of himself with Flocka’s stolen diamond chain.

But according to MTV News, Flocka isn’t sweating it, and is instead choosing to move on.

“I don’t know [if it was actually the gunman] ’cause I didn’t even see who shot me,” said Flocka, sarcastically adding, “I thought a dog shot me. I thought a bird shot me. It’s stupid.”

Waka Flocka Flame already has a new chain to replace the old one. “This is round two,” Flocka said of the new piece.

Flocka even took the time to thank his assailant, “I ain’t worried about you. I appreciate you too. You got me sacked up, real talk. I got a stupid house off you, cars off you. I appreciate you, man.”

Waka Flocka Flame had no explanation for why a man who supposedly attempted murder would incriminate themselves, though he says he’s washed his hands of it and is going to move on. “It is what it is. Y’all said enough. I did enough…Let them live their life, I’mma live my life.”

It’s been 5 years since Lil Jon gave fans an album. 2004’s Crunk Juice came out on the Top 200 at #3, and prompted the singles “What U Gon’ Do” and “Real Nigga Roll Call.” The onetime So So Def DJ also enlisted production assistance from Rick Rubin, as well as a guest-list that included Nas, Ice Cube and Suga Free to what remains one of the few platinum independent Rap albums of the decade.

In the six years since, some could argue that Jon has quietly left. As his former label collapsed, the self-proclaimed King Of Crunk became label-mates with Chamillionaire and Drake at Universal Republic, and produced hits for E-40, Amerie, Pitbull and Baby Bash.

This afternoon, it was announced that after the lengthy hiatus, Jon’s long-discussed, but never-released Crunk Rock will be brought to fans June 8th. Morever, Jon & The East Side Boyz’ 7th career album features Game, Pitbull, R. Kelly, Elephant Man, LMFAO, Soulja Boy and others.

“I’m finally ready to get Crunk Rock out there to my people,” said Lil Jon. “It’s been a long time comin’ and the album has somethin’ for everyone on it.” Jon continued, “I gave them every kind of Lil Jon that they have ever heard on an album. From the Crunk shit, to R&B, to House, Electro and Rock… The album is on a whole other level… I can’t wait for da’ people to hear it!”

While at the NBA All-Star Game in Dallas, Texas, Jay-Z talked to MTV about his upcoming plans to shoot more music videos for Blueprint 3 and the possibility of a new album.

“I wanna shoot ‘Venus vs. Mars’. I may shoot two. I shot ‘Run This Town’ [and 'D.O.A. (Death of Auto Tune)']. I been shooting two at the same time. I’ll probably shoot ‘Venus’ and maybe ‘A Star Is Born.’ But I definitely wanna shoot ‘Venus’. I got an amazing concept in my mind.” said Jay-Z.

Jay also discussed “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)” with Rihanna and members of U2 performed for the “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon. “The number is ridiculous as far as the [money generated by the Hope For Haiti Now] album. I’m excited about the whole effort we put into the telethon. It’s helping real people through a real tough time, and we’ll just move on from there.”

Blueprint 3 will not be Jay’s last album. He is already talking about ideas and tracks for a new album. “I didn’t really start yet. I got a couple of scraps and I got a couple of ideas. I didn’t really go into the studio yet. I’ve been toying with ideas and direction and things like that”, Jay added, “I got one crazy record. To be honest with you, it’s crazy. I got one and we’ll build from there. Whether it comes out this year or next year, it depends on the music and how it’s coming out. I don’t really have any dates.”

The L.E.P. Bogus Boys have spawned from a street movement throughout the last decade. The Chicago trio of Count, Moonie and Bigg Rugg remains unsigned, but the group from the Harold Ickes Housing Projects is already getting support from national acts ranging from Jim Jones to Yukmouth.

Count, with a quiet Moonie, recently spoke to HipHopDX to talk about their contribution to Chicago’s Rap legacy. “To be honest with you, I think we’re in a different lane – the new class of valedictorians of this slab,” Count adds. “There’s a lot of people that might be graduating, or have graduated, but we’re the valedictorians of this new era. You’ve heard from a lot of genres and styles out of Chicago, but you still haven’t heard from our environment, which has actually influenced all facets of life – from the gang culture to whatever.”

The Low End Professionals have a history binded to the streets. Recently, Moonie returned after serving a five-year prison sentence. Count says that based on history alone, The Windy City deserves a place in the lineage of Gangsta Rap. “Crips and Bloods, all that started in Chicago. A guy by the name of T. Rodgers took it to L.A. in ‘67, ‘68, somewhere around there. And it blew up. [Rap listeners] have heard from every element but the streets.” With songs about robbery, hustling and the decayed surroundings of some of The Chi’s neglected neighborhoods, the streets are alive in L.E.P. Bogus Boys’ music.

Count still recognizes the acts that have before him, and explained to DX some of the city’s geographic influences on the genre. “You’ve got two sides of the city: the Southside and the Westside. That’s a Westside sound when they kind of twist their tongues, like Twista, Do Or Die and Crucial Conflict.” Count mimics the syncopated flow that was birthed on the Westside before adding, “You would like to say that Kanye [West] is from the Southside, Common’s from the Southside, No I.D. is from the Southside. You’ve got two different sections that’s breeding two different sounds. It’s all from one Chicago though.”

Although the trio is definitely Gangsta Rap, Count, with Moonie agreeing in the background, recognizes the differences between the street organizations of the past and the present. “They had a cause and a reason back then. Now, it’s just something to do.” He continues, “Back then, gangs were started with a purpose and a reason – to protect blacks in our neighborhoods from the white police officers and the whites that would come into the neighborhood and beat blacks up, or do us any kind of way. Gangs defended us. When they started putting drugs and money into the community, which we were not accustomed to, it turned to something else. It birthed greed and selfishness.”

The L.E.P. hope to end that greed and selfishness. The group pounds their chest in stating that they remain primary sources for street science at a time when Hip Hop uses hearsay to talk about dirt. Moreover, Count says that he and his brothers are the voice for the overlooked and uncounted heads of both their city and the nation.

Started in Chicago, the unsigned act has been performing the States for the last several years. Specifically, the group has a large following in North California. “From Oxnard to Oakland,” says the unofficial leader, recalling doing spot date shows regularly for $2,500 to build a base. Count admits that the show fees may have been small, but those early appearances were seed money for the L.E.P. to previously purchasing tour vans, before recently purchasing a tour bus.

With six videos shot between January 1 and February 1 of this year, the L.E.P. movement has pushed strong into the new year. “The labels better put their money where their mouth is,” says Count. The group is already performing better than some of the competition without the paperwork.

During Friday night’s P.O.S. concert in Los Angeles’ The Troubador, Evidence stood out in appreciation, without taking the stage, as Dessa, Grieves & Budo, and P.O.S. performed. It isn’t a rare sighting with two of the three acts on the bill presently representing Rhymesayers Entertainment. After all, Ev is getting ready for the release of his own RSE release, which has been one of the most talked about albums this year.

Evidence stopped for a second to let HipHopDX know about the album, Cats & Dogs, a project he first spoke to HipHopDX about last year. The disc, which has had fans anxiously awaiting, will get a considerate amount of “lead time,” as he said. This is something Rhymesayers Entertainment has requested in order to build up to the project’s release.

“Rhymesayers likes a bigger lead time than most labels, which I think is a great thing. It’s about having an album I can tour for years [versus] meeting a second, third or forth quarter for rushed reasons. I am putting the finishing touches on it all this month and the top of next. I’m not over thinking this one…just making honest music as I have my last two solo releases. I have upped my skills over the last years due to being inspired by a lot of my peers. I feel you will hear my growth with Cats & Dogs. Expect early to late Summer release,” stated Evidence.

Recently, fans got a sample of what’s ahead when DJ Premier dropped “To Be Continued” on his radio show. Fans can expect more new music from Mr. Slow Flow soon, as he noted via Twitter.

“Leaking ‘Outtamymind’ soon. Ev feat @MURS and …. ? I’m Indy! Can do whatever I want,” Evidence adds, leaving a question on his fans heads of who the third artist might be.

Cats & Dogs is Evidence’s follow up to 2007’s The Weatherman LP and 2008’s The Layover EP.

“Actually, that’s what really excites me more about it,” says singer Akon, which is initially speaking about Lady Gaga, who is signed to his label imprint. “You got some straight, hardcore Hip Hop guys actually moving into the dance realm.”

“That’s shocking,” says Akon, “when you got someone like Dr. Dre about to do a dance record. That’s my point. That’s crazy. But, in a way, it’s so exciting for me because that just shows our industry is so open-minded to everything. And believe it or not, with that open-mindedness, we can create magic.”

“It actually sounds great,” said the singer of the untitled Dr.Dre record. “He played it for me. I was shocked. I was like, ‘Wow, that’s dope!’ When the world hears this, they might go crazy!”

It is uncertain whether the record will be on Dr. Dre’s highly anticipated Detox album, or whether he’s simply producing it for another artist.

Even though “How To Make It In America,” the new HBO show starring Kid Cudi, has not gone on the air yet, Cudi is already talking about eventually ending his rap career to focus just on acting.

Kid Cudi recently told New York Magazine that he plans on calling it a wrap after about four or five albums.

“I’m trying to evenly balance them out right now, but eventually I want to leave behind music and just do acting,” Kid Cudi says. “I only got into the music business to tell my story and inspire some people. I think four albums will do it, and when I’m done with my four, five albums, I’ll switch it up. Once the story is told [musically], there’s nothing else to say.”

“How To Make It In America” will be aired on HBO on Sunday, February 14 at 10 p.m.

In other news, Cudi is claiming that alcohol may have been a major factor in an attack on a fan that happened back in December.

According to TMZ.com Cudi called Michael Sharpe, who is the man he punched at his show, to apologize. He explained to Sharpe that his actions that night were brought on by alcohol.

TMZ did not recieve a response in an attempted to reach out to Cudi in regards to his phone call to Sharpe.
