Eminem – Recovery – Relapse + Relapse 2 = Refill

The most successful hip hop artist of the last decade will finally release his much anticipated album Recovery on June 22nd.

Eminem’s record company has finally confirmed a release date for his upcoming albums, Relapse, and yes, Relapse2, pertaining to the rumor that for a second dose of all new material was also verified.

“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” said Eminem. “I was one of them.

Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months,” he said of his album’s delay.

“We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

This is great news for Eminem fans, who have been anticipating a new album from the rapper for over 4 years.

The rumors started circulating late-last fall when Eminem released a promotional freestyle I’m having a Relapse for Relapse.

Earlier this year, Crack A Bottle featuring 50 Cent and Dr.Dre was leaked. The hype was outstanding across the blogs and that transcended into commercial success – resulting in the Nielsen SoundScan record for opening week download sales. The song also reached #1 on the billboard charts.

May 16th, 2009 – one of the most commercially successful artists of all time will return with Relapse, pressing the reset button, on his proverbial career.

No word on when the second album Relapse 2 is scheduled for — Eminem who is known for missing due dates — said it will quickly follow.

According to Interscope, the follow up, will be issued in the second half of this year. Rolling Stones expects the album to be released in November of 2009.

October 3rd, 2009 – Eminem confirms in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid that himself and 50 Cent will be exchanging bars on one of the tracks. He also verifies two producers for the album Just Blaze and Denaun Porter.

Oct 7th, 2009 – Eminem clarifies that this album will be more “emotionally driven”. He states that the previous one was more of that “rapid punchline style”.

Eminem – “With the last record, it had a lot to do with me getting sober and just my eyes being open again and my brain went into overdrive. With Relapse 1, I was just trying to prove to myself that I could do it again. It was a [reintroduction] and what made me in the first place with the zany, loony, ridiculous sh–. I felt like a lot of that album, I kind of wanted to [spit] rapid fire and [do] punch lines.”

As of right now, all of his concentration is going towards this record at this point in time, he is not interested in movie roles. Eminem didn’t obligate himself to a tour, but left the possibility open.

DJ Alchemist also stated that the first Relapse was more of a reintroduction while this is Eminem letting everybody know how good he is.

November 19th, 2009 – In what many will consider very disappointing news, including myself, Eminem’s album Relapse 2 has been put on hold for Relapse Refill, which will feature 7 new tracks and the first album. On the bright side, we have a release date, December 22nd.

November 20th, 2009 – Eminem says that Relapse 2 will be released next year, of the 7 tracks on “Relapse Refill”, 2 are previously released “Forever” and “Taking My Ball”, with five unreleased ones that will hold his fans over until “Relapse 2″.

April 15th, 2010 – Eminem has changed the title of his much anticipated album from Relapse 2 to Recovery. The album is expected to be released in June with a single slated for May.

April 29th, 2010 – Eminem releases his first single Not Afraid for the upcoming recovery album.

All u gotta do is listen to Like Toy Soldiers that song shows up Jay Z and Nas not including all the Dicks at Murder Inc,, Eminem is by far the best EVER rapper to walk this planet just look at sum lyrics in his songs and ask urself how he gets 2 words that don’t rhyme 2 rhyme he’s a lyrical genious. The only album that didn’t do well which he openly admits is ENCORE was still better than most of the rappers in the game todays best albums!!!! The guys been around famously since 1996 and 14 years later he’s still spitting the best hip-hop ever to be heard see wot Lil Wayne an co are doing in 14 years eh!!! Relapse 2 is just gonna prove everyone above except the dicks who dont know wot there chatting that hes the BEST after everything the guys gone through and hes still keeping us entertained makes him a muva fukin genious peace out EM all my respect!!!!!!

They did not just rap about drugs money and girls… have you even listened to their songs ur fucking retarted they changed and made rap. I guarantee eminem will say that biggie and pac are way better. and if you think eminem doesnt rap about drugs and girls your really dumb. he has some of the most fucked up lyrics in the rap game maybe if you actually listened to some songs you would know what im talking about you fucking pussy

    R.I.P Biggie and 2pac

Yo this ben guy thinks he’s tough. Lets face it. Black people will think 2pac is the best, and white people will think eminem is the best (he is). All these rappers like Biggie and 2pac just talk about:
    -money
    -girls
    -drugs/booze
And that makes all their songs. I really dont see any talent in either one of them because they just produce violent little fuckers that end up robbing/stealing and runing hoods like mine.
Yeah, Eminem had a tough life growing up, but all his beats are ill and with every word that comes out of his mouth, you can hear the passion.
