Eminem’s record company has finally confirmed a release date for his upcoming albums, Relapse, and yes, Relapse2, pertaining to the rumor that for a second dose of all new material was also verified.

“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” said Eminem. “I was one of them.
Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months,” he said of his album’s delay.
“We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”
This is great news for Eminem fans, who have been anticipating a new album from the rapper for over 4 years.
The rumors started circulating late-last fall when Eminem released a promotional freestyle I’m having a Relapse for Relapse.
Earlier this year, Crack A Bottle featuring 50 Cent and Dr.Dre was leaked. The hype was outstanding across the blogs and that transcended into commercial success – resulting in the Nielsen SoundScan record for opening week download sales. The song also reached #1 on the billboard charts.
May 16th, 2009 – one of the most commercially successful artists of all time will return with Relapse, pressing the reset button, on his proverbial career.
No word on when the second album Relapse 2 is scheduled for — Eminem who is known for missing due dates — said it will quickly follow.
According to Interscope, the follow up, will be issued in the second half of this year. Rolling Stones expects the album to be released in November of 2009.
October 3rd, 2009 – Eminem confirms in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid that himself and 50 Cent will be exchanging bars on one of the tracks. He also verifies two producers for the album Just Blaze and Denaun Porter.
Oct 7th, 2009 – Eminem clarifies that this album will be more “emotionally driven”. He states that the previous one was more of that “rapid punchline style”.
Eminem – “With the last record, it had a lot to do with me getting sober and just my eyes being open again and my brain went into overdrive. With Relapse 1, I was just trying to prove to myself that I could do it again. It was a [reintroduction] and what made me in the first place with the zany, loony, ridiculous sh–. I felt like a lot of that album, I kind of wanted to [spit] rapid fire and [do] punch lines.”
As of right now, all of his concentration is going towards this record at this point in time, he is not interested in movie roles. Eminem didn’t obligate himself to a tour, but left the possibility open.
DJ Alchemist also stated that the first Relapse was more of a reintroduction while this is Eminem letting everybody know how good he is.
November 19th, 2009 – In what many will consider very disappointing news, including myself, Eminem’s album Relapse 2 has been put on hold for Relapse Refill, which will feature 7 new tracks and the first album. On the bright side, we have a release date, December 22nd.
November 20th, 2009 – Eminem says that Relapse 2 will be released next year, of the 7 tracks on “Relapse Refill”, 2 are previously released “Forever” and “Taking My Ball”, with five unreleased ones that will hold his fans over until “Relapse 2″.

It seemed to me Eminem has been in a downward spiral ever since he did The Eminem Show, which is arguably his best album. Don’t get me wrong, I love the punch lines, I love the zany Eminem, but his emotional stuff really kills it and I believe that is what made him so successful. I know he loves to have fun, I know he likes to make cracks at people. But look at The Eminem Show, the only two songs on there that could be considered zany and fun would be Without Me and a little bit on My Dad’s Gone Crazy. Any of the other songs are arguably the greatest songs he’s ever recorded. Square Dance, rhyming seance with crayons, the whole second verse is just crazy. Cleaning Out My Closet, great track. White America, great track. Saying Goodbye To Hollywood, Sing For The Moment, Hailie’s Song, Say What You Say, Til I Collapse, When The Music Stops, all great tracks. Then he went on to do Encore and it was a lot of zany stuff. It was a great album, but it felt like he was just putting stuff out there. Mockingbird was a great track as well as Like Toy Soldiers. Mosh and Puke were a couple of other great tracks, but I felt like he went way down as far as material goes. Then he came out with a song called No Apologies in the Re-Up and I thought “Eminem is back” but he went on a four year absence and then came out with Relapse. I loved Relapse! I thought it was a great album. It shows just how lyrical Shady can be. The track Insane? Who else could do a record about his stepfather raping him? Who else could do a track about kidnapping unsuspecting women? I think we’re all sick of hearing about his mom, but My Mom was a great track. I think Beautiful is one of his greatest songs ever. It is definitely in my top 5. (Just in case your curious, here’s the top 5. 01. Sing For The Moment, 02. Infinite, 03. Mockingbird, 04. Beautiful, 05. No Apologies) Now Relapse 2 is coming and its supposed to be more emotional tracks. This is the Eminem I love. This is the Eminem I believe can tear a track up. I can’t wait for Relapse 2 to drop. Definitely going to be picking it up.

Relapse was a great intro to get Em back into his old ways. Peeps are sayin that the shit wasnt as good as his old stuff, but lets face it…. Infinite was the reason i fell in love with rap and Marshal Mathers LP n Slim Shady LP are up there in greatest rap albums of all time. He is gettin older (DUH)but the raw talent is still there, maybe not as much energy. eminem is a legend already no matter what. the man grew up in inner city detroit and made it in spite of being white. then he went on to set a world record for the best selling rap album ever while staying true to rap the whole time. he’s the best ever because of his skills as a rapper AND as an entertainer.

Relapse has everything that his previous albums had, there is humour in nearly every track, some is very underlying, but if you carefully listen to the lyrics you will hear this. He is the best rapper in history, without a shadow of a doubt, he has never gone over commercial like so many other rappers, who barely rap, eminem sticks to what he has done best for his whole career. Relapse has so much depth in every song, it has as usual, an lot of controversy which is what he is famous for.
