Jay Z has announced a brand new full length album “American Gangster Album”, which will see Jay going back to his “Reasonable Doubt Days.”

Jay said that American Gangster will be more like his first album, the street-savy, grittier side, of Jay Z from “Reasonable Doubt” his classic debut album.

The album has been in production for the last few week after Jay Z saw the movie “American Gangster” and got inspired by the film.

American Gangster the movie is about a heroin smuggler in Harlem, NY in the 70’s. His name was Frank Lucas.

“Watching that film, it brought back all these memories,” Jay said. “It took me back to those emotions.”

“It was like I was watching the film, and putting it on pause, and giving a back story to the story”

“It immediately clicked with me. Like ‘Scarface,’ or any one of those films, you take the good out of it, and you can see it as an inspiring film.” The rapper told the NY times.

He apparently has already put down nine tracks for his second album since his first come back.

He touched on his last album “Kingdom Kong”, which only sold 1.5 million copies, which is the least amount he has sold since his debut album.

“Jay doesn’t live in Brooklyn any more,” said Jay-Z, explaining that perhaps his last album was too “sophisticated” for some listeners.

Jay apparently is going to take his own bar into action, “I dumbed down for my audience, and doubled my dollars”.

Though I wouldn’t consider “Reasonable Doubt” dumb at all. More like classic.

The album should be dropped around the same time as the movie – November 2nd.

Illest will keep you updated with all the latest Jay Z news. Obviously a single should be coming out soon.

So now we have Lupe Fiasco, Nas, and Jay Z all dropping albums in the fourth quarter. It should be a hot – end of the year.
