Lil Wayne has been getting a lot of recognition lately. Check the DX message boards for proof. Still, some huge rumors have been flying around about the rapper's abilities in the lab.

MTV recently published reports about Wayne involved in a ghostriting scandal that, if true, could change a lot of people's perception of the young Cash Money emcee. According to the reports, rapper Gillie the Kid has claimed to ghostwrite The Carter, which was the album Wayne gained most of his critical acclaim with.

According to Gillie, his relationship with the company went sour much like those of other CM artists like Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and more. The rapper indicates that he and Baby & Slim had a falling out. Those disagreements led to him and Wayne not speaking for quite some time. Now, Gillie claims he wrote the majority of The Carter.

The artist does however admits that he had no hand in ghostwriting any material for The Carter 2, which is Lil Wayne's most recent effort.

"I wasn't around for Tha Carter 2. Give all the credit to Lil Wayne for that. But it was a whole lot of things going down for Carter 1. Holla at your boy, Wayne."

Lil Wayne's people also responded to MTV by claiming Wayne did not have ghostwriters. However, they did not leave before adding insult to other emcees. Wayne's people claim Weezy actually does a lot of ghostwriting in the industry
