Why's It So Hard

There's alot of dudes out there that have a hard time "righting the wrongs" and getting onto a better path because of a criminal record that follows them all the way from their past into their present. It effects job opportunities and just makes you more of a target for government in general. To be honest...I'm a victim of the bullshit as well...so these are my feelins toward it all.

Lyrics:

1st Verse:
Man tell me where to start exactly..,
every corner that I turn in life, the government's after me.
I can't work a simple 9 to 5..,
because the state has gotta get theirs before I can get mine.
Child support, I'm a couple behind..,
and I don't deny the fact that I should be payin on time.
My baby-girl, man I love her to death..,
but dealing wit the government is just like holdin your breath cuz..
there's only so much you can take in at once..,
before they start limiting what you can do and driving you nuts.
Income tax checks...intercepted.
But our drivers license!?! Come on man, why suspend it?
So you can charge another re-instatement fee..,
for a drivers license that don't belong to you, but me! Sure..
I fucked up once or twice in life..,
so does that mean dat I don't get a chance to make anything right!?!

2nd Verse:
To be honest I don't think I'm that bad of a guy..,
sincerely I try, there's alot of places I apply.
I drop a resume along wit my shit..,
just to get a call back like, "We're not hiring kid!"
And dats to say they even bother to call..,
cuz once the background comes back they don't wanna talk to me at all.
Why's the state make it so hard to recover..,
it's like when I bounce back from one problem, I encounter another!
It's bullshit! These laws are so outta whack..,
and don't worry baby, if they lock me up...daddy's coming back!
There ain't a structure they could build to keep us apart..,
and every good time that we've shared...keep it in your heart.
One day I hope the government can understand..,
that not every man has the money to pay for a second chance.
And if that day should ever come into light..,
I'll expunge my record and start over my life.

3rd Verse:
Well I guess the point I'm tryin to get across..,
is there's no help from the state and sumthin's always goin to cost!
They don't give a fuck about you or your ethics..,
and they're so blinded by money dat they don't see all your efforts.
Money the root of all evil!? Yea it's true..
and our government runs on money, so what does that tell you!?
A second chance for me!? A second chance for him!?
A second chance for anybody is pretty slim!!!
How'am I suppose to do my mother and daughter proud..,
when these pety laws are keeping me under a dark cloud?
So the state says their best interests is for the child..,
If it's true...why lock up the father for a little while!?!
Contadicting laws, a system full of flaws..,
when are you goin to see I'm not the man that I was?
Instead of tryin to back me into a corner..,
why don'tcha fallback and let me get my life into order?!

Lol Not My Personal Favourite By u But it's Probably ur Most Thought Provoking. Shit Was Fire, The Flow And Delivery Were Perfect, it All Fit Together Like a Jigsaw, And Worked Like a Well-Oiled Machine. it Just Flowed So Pure All The Way Through.

Lyrics Definitely Stood Out Too.

I fucked up once or twice in life..,
so does that mean dat I don't get a chance to make anything right!?! <-- Basically The Whole Track in a Nutshell. Anyone Who's Fucked Up Has Felt That at Somepoint.

I drop a resume along wit my shit..,
just to get a call back like, "We're not hiring kid!"
And dats to say they even bother to call.., <-- True Also, Most People Don't Get The Chance To Show What They Can Do, All Employers See is What's Written On Paper (For The Most Part).

Instead of tryin to back me into a corner..,
why don'tcha fallback and let me get my life into order?! <-- Good Finisher.

it All Hit Hard And im Sure Some People Were Nodding Their Heads at ur Bars, Really Truthful. Fuck The Man!!

Yeah Maaaan!! Lmao, Keep it Up.

I don't have time to leave a lot of feedback, but this was dope. I don't know, if it was my favorite track by you because it didn't sound angry enough for me. And it didn't seem like their was a clear person you were addressing (your daughter, your fans?, the instrumental, the government, yourself, etc.)

"Money the root of all evil!? Yea it's true..
and our government runs on money, so what does that tell you!?"

And for someone who really hates the government, you sure do want it involved in more of your daily life supporting Mr. Barack.

I guess my reasoning more or less is because I'd rather be involved in the politics of it all to fight for the changes I believe in.

Doesn't matter where your voice is heard from, so long as it gets heard...when u think about it.

I really like this a lot. I wouldn't say it's my favorite from you because like Plex said; It's not exactly clear who it is you're speaking to, and there isn't enough bitter resentment in your voice for the lyrics. It's still in the top ten for me though. Good work.
