This is a song I posted last month, and seeing how I got positive feed on it here, soundclick and myspace...I decided to throw together a quick video for it, just to serve as a visual aid and give the song itself some more spark.

Now I haven't mastered the art of directing videos just yet...but we all gotta start somewhere. This is only the 3rd video I've put together for one of my songs...I hope y'all enjoy.

i think this is probably your worst vid

the pics went well but the vid parts just seemed random, should've just done it all in one place

having just you in a vid makes shit look more amateur too, hard to explain but you probably know what i mean

vid wasn't terrible but it just lacked a clear direction

you too DJ. Jesus is not merciful when it comes to feed. haha But it's kool, I respect the honesty. When it comes to the video, I wasn't lookin for a huge production, hence why there wasn't that many different shots involved. BUT...I did want to throw atleast something together for the song. All the shooting and video was done in a day, so it's not something I put heavy planning to. But yea...I hear what you're sayin.

What can I say...I'm a rapper, not a video director! lol

Yah, I didn't like the video much either. It didn't go with the theme of the song, life being so hard.

Obviously, its good to practice, doing videos and shit takes a long time especially dealing with all them fucking programs. Making this a great video, you'd have to put the same amount of energy and creativity you do into the music side.

Things are all pretty much hit or miss, ya know!? I'm not really experienced in making videos. But I haven't exactly bumped into anyone in my journies just yet who is...cause I'd like to know a little bit more in that area.

My area of comfort is in the booth, or behind the soundboards...not really behind the camera. But I get a kick outta tryin new things to see what I'm capable of doing and what I'm not.

So if the vids don't come out great to everyone's liking...I'm not goin to have hurt feelings over it. lol Hell...I gave it a shot. And on the flip-side, some people do like the vid. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to put together sumthin real bananaz!

The song was good but not the video sorry. There wasnt a meaning to it, and it didnt match the song.

See...I think everyone is looking for a more theatric-type video to go with the song, but that's not neccessarily what I'm looking to put out. Alot of your minds are so polluted by MTV, VH1 & BET videos that it's to the point that your minds are spoiled and can't view the reasoning behind a video like mine.

You're expecting to see me being turned down for employment, and see scenes of "struggle"...but the foundation of the song is the fact that I'm complaining about how the government does me...when all I wanna do is live my life and spend time with my shorty. And the flicks of me and my daughter are the visual-aids used in "pleading my case" saying

...Look at the good time me and my baby have together. If you lock me up...if you complicate things for me anymore than you already have, it's not just me who suffers...but her. You'd be taking these good times that you see before you in these pictures, away from that little angel! Is it fair!?

Thats the deep-root behind the video. It's a shame, because even though I'm no Steven Spielberg, I would've thought that you more lyrical members of illest would've caught on to the real picture.

I guess not.

Not only that. But sometimes it's nice to put a face to the artist. Well this is me showing people who I am. No mysteries over here.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to one day do a video and be able to show off a G5, a Lambo and asian hookers...haha...but in the meantime, I'm just going to talk about the things that I do have and be myself. Especially if the video pertains to my life.

As for beats...I get alot of them off of www.shadowville.com Shadowville's beats are bananas! But some I produce myself...some are produced by Drunken Jesus (which is a producer here on illest) So I get them mainly from that small circle.
