I know you were tryin to be helpful by posting this, so i don't mean to be negative toward you, props for posting this. BUT

This is just a way for companies to get dirt cheap artwork. They try to undercut professionals with these types of contests. Also, you would most likely not get the type and amount of exposure your hoping for.

Again, I'm not trying to be negative, but this is the reality of these "design contests."

So, if you do enter, do not be expecting some big pay off, or some automatic rise to graphic stardom. or really even respect from the company (after all, your literally one of thousands).

True. I don't think there'd be any major expose off of doing it. But it's good for one's personal resume to say "Hey...I did the art for 'such-n-such' mixtape"...especially if it turns out to be a hot item. Not only that...depending on how well they dig his art...they could either contact for another job down the road or pass on the name.
Yea...theres no way to get rich or famous off of somethin like this...but it can't hurt. Especially if you have the extra time and could use the practice!
