i agree with ron paul on alotta issues but hes wrong on this
secession as a political gimmick (which is what this is) is unpatriotic no liberal states were talking about secession after bush was ruled president by the supreme court despite not winning the election, or after 9/11 or after iraq or after the economy collapsed under his watch, his idea of the basic rule of seccession to limit government control over states while not unpatriotic would equal chaos and division unseen since the civil war, in theory it sounds good but as a practical matter it would never work, every politician would use it to their advantage and to the detriment of the people
anybody in texas thinking secession is actually a legit option is retarded, as soon as texas lost all us defense backing (which it would you can't just say fuck this country and expect it to protect you) it'd turn into cartel land & would need all of the texas national guard on the streets constantly just to keep it from going into complete anarchy
