That battles been open since the 16th of December. Everyones blowing up the call outs and the battle grounds, but no ones voting.

If it comes down to it a link will be required that shows you've voted in a recent battle before you can start a new battle thread. Sound good? Probably not, but this is bullshit.

START VOTING!

its gonna suck if we have to use links in order to battle but i agree with that, i believe we tried it out before, and it killed a lot of battling, people didn't wanna waste time voting to battle but shit.. its annoying how many battles never close cuz people slack on voting, battle grounds in text is the most important area, this is originally and mainly a text battling site, without people taking the time and effort to vote its just all gonna fall apart and before u know the battle grounds will just close up and be thrown in the bin(and no im not exaggerating)

You can no longer randomly discard votes.

Seen a lot of crying and bitching in the past, and a lot of battles get slept on because people worry about their vote being discarded.
Cee4 wrote:dunno about how to get voting up but ive been slackin with votes.
im gonna start voting again but if i get accussed of being a hater or a dickrider again and admin pull my vote thats it.

the problem is we dont have a core group of people who vote regularly. most of the active users dont vote. probably due to crying, bitching, lazines and a lack of decent battles. anyway i`ll try and do my bit
Perfect example. Users are completely turned off from voting because why take the time to vote if the battler is going to say "Fuck that, your shits discarded".

If you don't want people voting, that's different. Put it in the first post. If it's not in the first post, then it will count.

If you want to discard a vote, PM me and I'll talk it over with another administrator. If you're going to discard a vote and it's perfectly valid you better come correct with proof that the guy has it out for you or some shit.

Also, if a new user wants to vote, and he's dropped something, and he shows how he's voted on other sites and understands the battle categories, then the vote will no longer be discarded.

Subshit deleted all the previous rules, and one of them was if a new user voted all he had to do was drop a script or be in a battle. And that's how it's gonna be. A lot of people don't have time to make a shit-ton of posts.

Hope that covers everything.

This morning Complexity and I were discussing the abuse of discarding votes that has been taking place lately. On illestlyrics we've always had "open voting" which is where anybody who is a member is free to vote. Most battles that allow open voting can be closed and updated within a day or two...
...but lately we've noticed that there are battles that "could've been" closed rather swiftly, but landed up remaining open for weeks because of the obnoxious number of "discarded votes" being piled up! This is no longer going to continue.

Here's are new rules in reguards to vote dismissal:

*If there are particular individuals that you DO NOT want voting in your battle, you must list them off in the beginning before the battle even starts. Otherwise you lose your chance to exercise this right. Names can NOT be added to the list after the battle has already begun. So any vote casted will be permenant and remain.

*If you have OVER 10 Wins on your record...you are only allowed to discard up to 1 vote per battle. AND ONLY 1 VOTE. Any other attempts to discard votes after you've already dismissed one, will be ignored, and those votes will stand.

*If you have LESS THAN 10 Wins on your record...you are only allowed to discard up to 2 votes per battle. 2 IS THE MAXIMUM. Any other attempts to discard votes after you've already dismissed two, will be ignored, and those votes will stand.

*Otherwise Votes that are casted within the listed categories are permenant. Again...if you don't want someone voting in your battle, then let it be known in the begining of the battle before it starts. Otherwise their votes will be accepted too if they should make the effort to vote.

Admin-Alpha Bill attempted to touch base on this topic ealier in the month in this thread: http://www.illestlyrics.com/board/you-c ... 12259.html But this is now officially added to the House Rules.

If you don't like the rules or can't handle them...then don't battle.

As a reminder, here are your house rules. http://www.illestlyrics.com/board/battl ... 10172.html

i agree with that shit, ive noticed alot of people a certain few not namin names cuz i could give two fucks its not my business n dats why i dont bother voting cuz its a waste of time it seems....but theyll decline votes alot...deyll get removed..and the votes were against them..and ive seen even 2 people battlin eachother do it...and it ends up stayin open for days if not a week...and all cuz all the votes were bitched about either for or against the person battlng....this will knock that out..unless someone names alot of people thus resulting in it being a big group of people voting...so u might wanna add like a 2 person limit for under 10 and 1 for over 10...or 2 for over ten and 3 for under ten...i dunno just an idea...

Well we'll start with these rules for now, because some people have more "haters" than others...hence limiting how many people they can list might not do any good right now. But if that gets out of hand at some point...then we'll just regulate that too. But for now we'll start here.

And these rules apply for audio and text battles.

People...it's safe to vote again.

I'm not refering to you...I don't battle, so it's irrelevant for me to list any "haters" lol...stop having a guilty conscious! lol

If i was talkin about you...I'd just say you. But I'm speaking "haters" in a term as in reguards for everyone. Damn...slow the roll son lol

I'ma say it again. I wasn't talkin about you. haha It's not subliminal if it's not directed toward you. It was said "in general"...you're not the only guy on illest that has alot of enemies. There are others. Where on the other end...there's quite a few people who barely have any beef at all.

Hence...some people have more haters than others. Follow? lol
