Perfection (Doesn't Exist)

How many times have you glanced at your reflection just searchin/
For perfection but left feeling like less of a person/
Is it a lesson or curse when you've reached the conclusion/
That idealism is nothing more than a feat of illusion/
Its easily proven if your searching is cautious/
You'll look closer and see that no person is flawless/
I'm certain it causes a lapse in the mind/
But perhaps you will find we're a backwards design/
The attractive are blind, too crooked and shallow/
Too good for the hassle of looking in shadows/
They're cowards in spirit with their sour endearment/
So instead they focus on your outward appearance/
Now is it clear when I point to your lover/
And strip away their skin and leave the poison uncovered/
We destroy one another, ugly is tossed aside/
But the beautiful ones tuck all of these flaws inside/
For perfection but left feeling like less of a person/
Is it a lesson or curse when you've reached the conclusion/
That idealism is nothing more than a feat of illusion/
Its easily proven if your searching is cautious/
You'll look closer and see that no person is flawless/
I'm certain it causes a lapse in the mind/
But perhaps you will find we're a backwards design/
