I completely agree with this, and for people not to get mixed up, in my point of view you dont have to break down EVERY lil bar... Read the piece, be honest on what you think is wrong, or needs to be stronger, even if you think its the best piece in the world, let then know what is good about it, let them know what they did to make it so great, so that they can continue to go on that path... if you leave feed "that was good, it had good lyrics, good drop" on both good and bad drops and not tell the artist/writer what was good or bad, they will continue to go down a path that might need to be repaved.. Imma start leaving way more descriptive feed, just dont ask me to break down every little bar

i personally dont feel im developed as a writer enough to break down feed to that level... i mostly look for emphasis on topics and word play and i feed on drops in order to critisize but as well as to learn from others that are more elevated than myself... Who would want someone that dont know much about what they looking at ta drop a breakdown and confuse the shit out of people... i feed a lot on writtens and audios...mostly to learn tho...once i feel like im the man as somepeople then i will drop feeds and let dudes know what it is they doing wrong until then u can expect me to feed on my personal taste and to pick out my favorite bars....Fuck it

Plus some peeps use a phone. Its hard to quote shit and do all that with a phone. Takes for ever!

this has to have something to do with why i stopped dropping as much, that an i stopped writing as much, anything i do feed even though it aint alot it aint too lengthy but it gets them the feedback that they require but some cats be selfish, all about themselves and have no interest in reading another rappers piece because it could be better than their's, there will always be those people so the rest of us have to support each other

I agree completely with everything Rugged said. That is the motto that I've had since this site was started and only on a few occasions have I left sub par feedback, just to note that I read the drop and liked it.
People understand when I give them feedback, its legit, even if I don't completely break it down,(which I do most of the time) because of my track record. If everyone had some history of leaving detailed feedback then it would be less angering when others simply said this was ILL. When some of you leave the exact same feedback on multiple drops, it doesn't hold much weight or have any credibility.

JJ. I agree that it does get to a point where everything has been said, also some pieces simply don't deserve thorough feedback. These type of threads do inevitably effect the site, sometimes positively, sometimes negatively.

However, I know for a FACT that many sites are jealous of the way are written section is, with 2817 drops, the way that section self sustains is simply impressive. Everything tends to balance out, the righteous causes like great feedback, and originality always end up being the focus of the established members. That doesn't happen on every site, that is why I think this particular thread, wouldn't hurt the site as much as "This forum is dead" type of crap, because its unbelievably obvious that few sites have that level of written rhymes while everyone knows there are more active sites.


Oh yah. Also in defense of both of you, Rugged he is one of the main contributors to the recent activity, while JJ has always been one of the sites leaders in just about everything.

(another note, threads in the fight club don't get picked up by google, all of this content would actually help us get more users, if anything simply for all the text, so I'm moving this to the chill.)

i use to hate the feed i got on my written drops granted i've never done many and most i've done were just quick shit i decided to post but still their was very little critical analysis though because of my greatness none was needed but i see the plight of less superior beings thats being discussed

i don't leave feed much because i don't really post much but when i do leave feed which is usually on something i can listen to i try just pick a few worthy seeming standouts and leave a decent bit of detailed feedback on each as opposed to trying to feed every drop on the page

This whole thread is full of shit... I rarely get break downs and no matter what my feed is at least u should be happy getting the feed... Take ur dam Tampons off guys... U wanna make a sticky on what feed should be put it in the written section... for all i appreciate what feed i do recieve and would like more breakdowns but hey i get what i get and u niggas always give me shit feed as well... So fuck the world ill leave my feed and it will be what it is...HONEST... I get down on the drop the most i can and feed at my level.. or should everyone get they phd feed on and talk shit they know nothing about... Hey this bar Streched.. this multie forced.. I understand your argument Rugged. And I know I'm guilty of not only leaving fairly vague feedback, but also being a bit of an ass if I think something doesn't cut it. If its wack, I say it. If you care about elevating, you'll ask why and then I'll tell you. I do breakdowns every now and then, but I'm usually late to the party. Any feed is better than no feed. Its more frustrating to drop a piece you put a lot into and have like 200 views and 3 replies. Breakdowns are cool, but to know that a large majority of the people like it is equally satisfying. Plex, I'm wondering if perhaps you could create some kind of option like Facebook with the like/ dislike option. Maybe have like ill, good, mediocre and wack. Like a mini poll attached to every piece. Thatd give mute dudes a way of expressing their likes and dislikes without having to actually say something. Don't know if its doable, but would be a dope feature IMO. I think thatd eliminate a lot of the 200 views and 2 reply threads. It may reduce the amount of feed but I still think people will leave more in-depth feed. Or maybe like a 5 star rating system. Or mics like the Source.
