Generals practice politics with texts by Von Clausewitz/
War college graduates, I'm just a small pawn in their mix/

Drill Sergeants are order barking turning farm boys into marksmen/
Hearts are hardened til fifty cals are locked in on the targets/

The chicken hawk civilians sit at home screaming for blood-spilling/
Defense contractors willing to fill their coffers up with millions/

I've seen the Middle East from Nasiriyah to Samara/
Sorry mama but I'm no longer believing in tomorrow/

You think I can stop a Sunni Shi'ite revolution?/
When we can't even manage to enforce our constitution/

My ranks are swelled with inner-city blacks who ran track/
Poor white trash filling caskets while King George just laughs/

I made it back with a disability to match my college degree/
Used to run the five mile dash now my legs stop at the knee/

My heart is cold as titanium tipped with depleted uranium/
I'd pray for Jesus to save them but it's hard for an atheist/

This was good stuff, man. Started off good and the imagery and emotion got more intense as it progressed. I think the ending was rather abrupt and came too soon though. Could definitely add to this and extend out. 'm a vet myself so its cool to hear another side of the story in lyrical form.
