I was just reflecting on how ever since I've been flowing, people always seem to try to compare my voice and style to other cats their familiar with. I find myself occasionally thinking the same thing when I listen to some new emcees.

For those of you who are emcees, who has your flow been compared to the most?

For me, when I first started rhyming I had quite a few people telling me I sounded like Lateef the Truth Speaker. Then more recently, just within the last year or so, I've had about a half dozen people say I sounded a little like Del the Funkee Homosapien. I've also had a handful of Digable Planets over time, and two comparisons to early Outkast within just the last few weeks.

It's funny, cuz for me personally I really don't understand most of these comparisons, maybe I can occasionally hear a line or two that might have a little bit of a similar sound, but that's only if I'm listening to my own music specifically just to see why someone has felt that particular similarity. It's not to say I dislike the comparisons, the emcees I'm compared to are always a hell of a lot better than I am, and in the case of the ones mentioned above, they are actually some of my favorite emcees who I hold the utmost respect for. But still, I can never quite understand the full reasoning behind the comparison.

So, who have you been compared to and how do you feel about those comparisons?

im compared 2 ICP AND TWIZTED .every day of the week.
voice and delivery , doesn't really bother me thou.always have had allot of energy,always will..maybe i'll be a more chill/calmer rapper when i'm in my 50's

In my earlier days I've been compared to Nas
lately it's been Joe Budden, even when I'm fooling around people try comparing me
I don't stick to one formula, if I feel the vibe of something I'ma run with it
never have I stuck to one flow or one style for too long, I may come back to it
but I don't use it constantly like some folks may think
the point is you gotta keep switching up before the comparisons get stuck to you
no matter what tho, I've seen it done on a lot of mainstream artists that are still coming up
they'll tag you with the next upcoming so and so, just cuz your in the same boat as them

wen i first started 5 or 6 years approx ago, friends said i sounded like a young 50 Lol at the time the movie get rich or die tryin just came out. So yeh i admit it was cool but later grew up and found a little more out about the game. Good times lol funny shit

ive been compaired to em and mos def but i been rappin so long that i am sure there are plenty more but those ive heard multiple times

I've been compared to Nas, Mos Def, Big Pun, Lupe Fiasco, and Immortal Technique. Who knows, I've pondered on it just like you guys lol!

i don't do audio but some people say my text has a common sense feel to it

been compared to E40, cuz Ill jus say the most random shit when Im rhyming and make up sayings..plus I got that deeper POP voice

Shit pisses me off, as well. I sound like MonuMental, fuck the bullshit, but people have compared me to Immortal Technique and Tech N9ne. They're both tight, I'm a fan of them, and possibly influenced a bit, but I don't sound like them and have never tried to sound like anyone but me.

ive been compared to a young snoop dogg when i freestyle

ive been compared to "bone thugs N harmony" , "cypress hill", and "SPM"

How i feel about it is....

kinda mixed.. at one side im like "chea thats tight" cause all those groups and emcees are hella ill.. kinda got fast raps and harmonies and shit.


But on the other hand its like... damn ima white kid from idaho getting compared to Mexican swag and African american rappers... Which isnt what i was trying to do.

in the end though i think i got my own style
