okay well .. it was a project in school, I chose to write a rhyme about the math symbol "pi", how it originated and what it is yadayadayada. so i figured i'd sharee..lol.....
in normal day we hear "pi" and we think of it as a food
but in math we use it to divide from what i conclude//
pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter
it's an infinite decimal, represents itself by a letter//
the world as you see it revolves around this mathematic technique
the symbol itself involves a letter from the alphabet of the Greeks//
it isn't all that simple, not just subtraction and addiction
originated in ancient times, father back like the Egyptians//
reinstated in 17th century by a German mathematician
1706, William Jones officially determined the inscription//
pi is all around us, we use it day to day to figure things
like areas of circles, for instance the area of circus rings//
celebrated on march fourteenth, just like the first three digits
may sound obscene, and i agree, but i didn't come up with it//****
the numbers to the right of the decimal can go on forever
to find the end it's impossible, scientists have highly endeavored//
now its difficult for me to spit a bar over a math symbol
but as stated before, it's hard to explain, not that simple//
so that's what im gonna leave it to, this is my conclusion
this was just all a lyrical mess, hope you're not left in confusion//
***- 3/14 is national Pi day if you didn't know! LOL, true story.
