DMX Misses Court Date, Judge Issues Arrest Warrant

City Court Judge Brian Hansbury signed an arrest warrant for DMX after the rap star failed to appear in court yesterday for a pre-trial conference on traffic charges.
Hansbury has ordered DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, to appear in court today, but he had not shown up as of 9:30 a.m.
Simmons, who was raised in Yonkers, was arrested June 2 after cops said he was speeding in his 2001 Ford Explorer on Martine Avenue and discovered that his driver's license had been suspended. He is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and speeding, seat belt and unsafe lane change violations.
After missing two court appearances, Simmons spent a night in jail in June when City Court Judge Barbara Leak ordered him held on $25,000 bail. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and has declined plea bargain offers made by the Westchester County District Attorney's office.
