Make 'em register to vote, na na na na, na na na na

Father and son hip-hop artists Master P and Romeo have linked up with the NAACP to help minorities understand their impact on democracy and empower them to exercise their right to vote. The team has set out to educate communities on the importance of their vote and encourage them to elect the right people to office that will truly represent and serve their needs.

"We always think we're outnumbered, and our vote doesn't matter, but truthfully, that's not the case," said Master P. "If we get out there and support the people we believe in, we can make a difference NOW!"

Master P stated that he is joining the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Halle Berry and George Clooney in supporting Obama's bid for presidency.

"Our communities need to support our positive role models and leaders," continued Master P. "I challenge the studios, TV, internet sites and radio stations to promote our positive leaders and stop glorifying the negative."

The well-known entrepreneur/rapper recently cleaned up his act and undertook several initiatives to create and promote positive music. Take A Stand Records, a label he started with his son Romeo is set to make history by releasing a street, profanity-free record titled Hip-Hop History. It will be available at Wal-Mart stores nationwide and iTunes. In addition, Master P will also release a self-empowerment book titled Guaranteed Success, which guides readers along the path to financial and personal success. Both the book and album will also be available on September 4, 2007.

Master P will be speaking at the 2007 Congressional Black Caucus Convention. Making a change for the better and acting responsibly is important to the first father and son of hip-hop. Their family values education so highly that Romeo has put his entertainment career on hold in order to pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at USC.
