Ruff Ryders Exec Indicted on Drug, Weapons Charges

Darrin Dean, Co-CEO ofthe Ruff Ryders label has been indicted on drug and weapons charges, The Record of Bergen County reported.
A Bergen County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Darrin Dean, also known as David Jones Green, with possession of large amounts of cocaine with intent to distribute it, as well as unlawful possession of a .45 caliber handgun.
Palisades Interstate Parkway police arrested Dean, along with a driver, Jerry Gilbert, in May after police noticed a broken taillight on the van the pair were in.
The officers searched the car after smelling marijuana and reported finding a little more than 3 pounds of cocaine and the handgun in a secret compartment in the vehicle.
Gilbert has also been charged.
Dean, along with his brother and sister, started the New York-based record label in 1989. The Ruff Ryders label promotes artists such as Eve and DMX.
Both Dean and Gilbert are free on bail.
