before my head hits the pillow I recite my gratitude
for Gods graces, still it's hard to keep a positive attitude
jobs are scarce, for others and myself included it's hard
bills are piling up and I've maxed out my credit cards

used to havin it made, it hurts to ask can I borrow a five
so many restless nights, waiting on tomorrow to arrive
wiping sorrow from my eyes, hiding my tears with a smile

tho my money's dry, the nectar's gone in my honey hive
I've learned if you fall down 24 times then you get up 25
my tummy's tight, meager meals leave me hollow inside
to quench my hunger I'm forced to swallow my pride
it's funny why bad things happen to so many good people

through all he endured he still maintained love in his heart
so who am I to quit and say this is too much for me to bare?

and what the future holds? I don't know so I just imagine
