Re: Some spoken word poetry
It's hard to critique spoken word poetry in technical terms since all the flow comes from the emotion behind the actual speaker. But as far as imagery goes, this piece is solid. My favorite lines though were:
It's hard not to love them more
In some strange way with each passing day/
I am from books with pictures of my life
separated by a decade/
Every one of my life's aspects, each unique in their own way are, indeed, where I am from.../
But as I sit here today I know that they will also take me to where I am going
Good work, I'm sure this would do well in a contest.

I don't drop rhymes all the time, but when I do, I prefer to spit fire
Re: Some spoken word poetry
I don't know how it sounds coming from your mouth... probably sounds good, although I think this needs some more emotion...

Re: Some spoken word poetry
Maybe more emotion. Metaphorically, I thought it was on point. The concept is good as well.
Not bad content. Nothing stellar though. My favorite line would probably be the book one.
