Virginia rap duo The Clipse finally have an October 31 release date for their sophomore album, Hell Hath No Fury, after years of postponements and label setbacks. As Malice tells it, their second LP – which is said to be entirely produced by the Neptunes – is much darker than their 2002 debut, Lord Willin’. “It’s just fitting. Halloween – let the demons loose,” Malice recently told MTV News. “It’s a fresh album. There’s no way we could use the same album; we’re in a totally different place. You can hear what we’ve been through. It’s good to let people in on it. It’s been sitting up, and it’s good to let the cat out of the bag. The feedback has been good. It’s a classic. … It’s going to be reminiscent of classic East Coast hip-hop.” The Clipse are also releasing an accompanying “Hell Hath No Fury” film, a la Jay-Z’s “Street Is Watching,” complete with its own soundtrack featuring their extended crew The Re-Up Gang. “We’re trying to get the soundtrack together,” said Pusha. “We already have great music. It’s just a family soundtrack. You’re not going to hear any other artist outside the family.” The LP also features appearances by fellow Star Trak recording artists Pharrell, Slim Thug, and Roscoe P. Coldchain.
