
Def Jam president Jay-Z is joining United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan and MTV president Christina Norman this Wednesday to announce a joint effort aimed at educating young people on global issues.Jay, born Shawn Carter, will be appearing in a new documentary where the multi-platinum rapper witnesses first hand the impact of the global water crisis. More than one billion people lack access to safe drinking water, according to statistics, and water-related diseases are the leading cause of death – constituting 80% of the world’s sicknesses. The documentary’s premiere date and other related initiatives are to be announced at Wednesday’s press conference in New York City’s United Nations.
