Jay-Z, who declared that 2003’s “The Black Album” would be his last, is officially coming out of retirement and releasing a new CD, according to Entertainment Weekly.“It was the worst retirement in history,” Jay told the magazine. “Something, when you love it, is always tugging at you and itching, and I was putting it off and putting it off. I started fumbling around to see if it felt good.”Jay, born Shawn Carter, announced that his upcoming album, “Kingdom Come,” will hit stores as early as November.“[The album is] more in the vein of ‘The Black Album’ than ‘The Blueprint,’” Jay said. “I’ve been experimenting with things, different types of music.”The LP is slated to feature production from long-time collaborators Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, and even Coldplay’s Chris Martin.Since his short-lived retirement from the studio, the 36-year-old rapper has kept busy as the president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings, and part owner of the New Jersey Nets.So will Jay-Z ever step away from the mic for good?“If I wake up one day and the best material has passed me by – and that’s going to happen,” he said, “then it’s time to move on.
