N.O.R.E testifies in triple murder

N.O.R.E., formerly known as Noreaga, testified on Wednesday in a triple murder trial stemming back to a 2002 incident outside of Yankee Stadium.

The Queens rapper spoke on behalf of the defendant, Darryl Henderson, who is accused of being involved in the murder of three men. He faces a possible death penalty if convicted.

N.O.R.E., born Victor Santiago, told the court that he met Henderson in the Bronx either in 1998 or 1999, and hired him as a roadie.

The rapper also befriended members of a Bronx gang called Murder Unit, but said he was unaware that some of them had violent histories, sold drugs and carried weapons. He also admitted that he took them on the road with him, and at times this involved smoking marijuana and chasing women,
