After recording two albums under the four album contract with EMI, Snoop Dogg is taking the issue to court stating that under a California labor law that his contract allows him to breach the existing agreement after seven years.
The response from EMI was that since the contract was filed in the state of New York that the quoted labor law that exists in California does not apply to the contact written and completed in New York which California law would not apply.
Two albums titled "Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not Told" and "Topp Dogg" were released by Snoop Dogg under the EMI contract.
When asked to comment on the situation, both representatives declined to offer any details on the case since its currently pending in court.
In related news, Snoop Dogg is currently putting the finishing touches on his eighth solo album titled "Blue Carpet Treatment." According to reports from SOHH, the album is set to feature appearances and contributions from Warren G, Timbaland, R. Kelly, Pharrell, Will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, Stevie Wonder and Akon.
Also reported was the animated film based the album with a live-action element. The titled of the film is "A Woman's Touch."
