A few of the bars seemed well thought out, but still the piece wasn't immersed with substance.

A little more research and reality behind the bars would have been preferred.

If you're going to claim you have been victimized by racism, you should elaborate further on it. Not only would it be an intriguing story, but it would have fit perfectly in with this piece.

Most people can't relate to a bar, about white people being discriminated against because of their skin color. Though it does happen. You would need to clarify yourself.
