Plies hit with $10 million lawsuit

Plies aka Algernod Washington, Slip-N-Slide Records and a Gainesville, Florida nightclub were all named in a lawsuit that alleges negligence against the parties in a 2006 shooting at the club in which five people were injured, according to the Gainesville Sun.

The suit which has been filed on behalf of five Gainesville residents is seeking $10 Million.

Plies and three other people were arrested on July 2, 2006, after members of Plies entourage began firing guns around a sold out crowd of around 1000 people.

Plies later plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possession of a concealed weapon.

Plies attorney Robert Rush said he is yet to see the suit, but that his client is in now way responsible for the shooting.

“If they're suing Mr. Washington, they're suing the wrong person. He does not have legal liability. It is not an entertainer's job to provide security for a club where the entertainer is performing,â€
