I'm trying to find some way to perform live some time down the road. Any ideas?

speaking from somebody who has done a shitload of shows.....you should start off by networking with other local artists and talk to them about booking shows together. you'd be amazed how many people will put you on if you got their respect/attention with your music. Promote hard. let everybody and their moms know when and where you are performing. make sure you have all the essential equipment you need for the show if the place doesn't already provide it. Mics, PA System, DJ, Etc. if your show is at 9 pm. be there at 730-745 pm doin mic checks. make sure your sound is down cuz you don't want any technical difficulties when you're out there when people either paid or came to see you perform. make flyers/posters for your event and if you go to school still that is the place you want to hand them out. hit up hallways and lunchrooms.
Promote your shows online. Myspace and Facebook are great places online for inviting people to events/shows. also, if you are looking for shows, hit up the club/bar promoters bring them a demo and contact info sell them on your idea of making them more money by you having a spot set up there. if they like you they'll make something happen. other than that good luck. if you got any questions bout anything hit me up or pm me i've got alot of experience with live performances and can put my two cents in. word. holla
