Profiling is human nature. When you have a policy that reinforces that instinct - you encourage corruption. Also everybody loses their freedom because everyone fits the profile for something.

I don't know the exact solution for Fort Hood either, but its real convenient for Sarah Palin to go on a right-wingers show, and amp up the rhetoric, its another thing to actually weigh the benefits and the risks associated with profiling. I'm not one that calls her a complete moron, the simplicity of her answers should be a warning for any potential voters, these problems are a lot more complicated than she gives them credit to be.
