While some rappers catch plenty of bodies in their verses, DJ Green Lantern’s newest find intends to spell it out in no uncertain terms; it’s murder! Uncle Murda and his critically acclaimed DJ have aligned with The Mix Unit to supply us with ‘Say Uncle…2 Hard for Hip Hop.’ The twenty nine track mixtape includes traditional jacking-for-beats joints and eleven original songs, nine of which were produced by the neo-beat-smith, Green. He also mixed and arranged ‘Say Uncle.’ Brooklyn representative Uncle Murda-the face of the “Gettin’ Money Gangstas”- has toiled in the underground for about seven years, generating a sizeable buzz via appearances on Cutmaster C’s ‘The Comeup’ mixtape series. Green has emerged as one of the most sought after mixer/producers by hosting and co-creating mixtapes like Beanie Sigel’s ‘Public Enemy #1,’ Jadakiss’ ‘The Champ is Here,’ and Tru Life’s ‘New New York, the Movement’. Green Lantern was also instrumental in negotiating Tru Life’s deal with Jay-Z’s Roc La Familia imprint. He himself is signed to Russell Simmons Music Group/Def Jam Records. Green recently dropped his official “street album,” ‘Alive on Arrival.’ ‘Say Uncle…’ is available at www.mixunit.com.
