
After a year of postponements and online leaks, Lupe Fiasco’s debut, Food & Liquor, saw an impressive first week – selling over 80,000 copies and topping Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart.Lupe’s debut also ranked #2 just behind Justin Timberlake (FutureSex / Lovesounds) on Billboard’s Top Hip-Hop/R&B Albums charts, and #8 on the overall Billboard 200.This week’s Nielsen SoundScan reports corrected an earlier tally which claimed the album had sold only 58,000 units.According to SoundScan, the premature tally was missing information from “a data supplier in the retail chain strata,” reportedly referring to Best Buy retailers.Other artists whose album sales were initially miscalculated include Chingy (Hood Star), and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas (The Dutchess).
