the boy who got away

Post by LadySam »

And ten years down the line
She'll still remember how it felt
How you opened up her heart
When she thought it would never mend
You loved her unconditionally
Her flaws you never saw
She was the only woman in the world
Who could connect you with your soul
Your love for her blossomed quickly
Even when she was still unsure
Until one day
She spoke words of love
The sun came out and
Two hearts made a whole
Sweet words were spoken
True love was envisioned
You both had each other
Your hearts had it all
Take us to never never land
So our love will never grow old
Ruled it too good to be true
So you gave her back her heart
She refused to take it back
And that's when it all went dark
Clouds began to appear
A storm was coming through
The sun followed him
Only to find something new
She walked around with her cloud
It rained down her cheeks
Others skipped through her puddle
But she never saw his feet
He was the man of her dreams
Then she woke up to see
The boy who never stayed
The boy who managed to get away

Nice for a come back piece.

Good story. Felt the emotion in it.

She walked around with her cloud
It rained down her cheeks
Others skipped through her puddle
But she never saw his feet

Real nice imagery and the play on words with the puddle reference.

Good to see you writing again.

Powerful drop.

The ramifications of missing opportunities.

"Only to find something new

I enjoyed this a lot.

I really liked this,

She walked around with her cloud
It rained down her cheeks
Others skipped through her puddle
But she never saw his feet
